Say “cheers,” Illinois. Statistics website RoadSnacks ranked the top 10 drunkest cities in the Land of Lincoln.
The site based its findings on criteria including number of bars and pubs per capita, number of drunk-related tweets in each city and divorce rates.
Loves Park ranked first place on RoadSnacks' list. The city of over 23,000 people sits just north of Rockford, and is about a two-hour drive from Chicago. Loves Park has the 13th most liquor stores per capita in Illinois, according to the report.
The southern Illinois city of Alton came in as the second drunkest city in Illinois. Based on RoadSnacks’ research, Alton has the highest divorce rate in the state.
Three Chicago suburbs helped round out the top five drunkest cities in the Land of Lincoln. Libertyville, Geneva, and Grayslake came in third, fourth, and fifth, respectively. Chicago came in seventh place.
