3 Arrested During Traffic Stop Shooting

Two weapons were taken from the scene and three men were placed into custody

Three men were arrested early Sunday during a traffic stop after one man pulled a gun on an officer, according to Chicago police.

Police were responding to a call about a man with a gun when they observed a car with the back license plates covered up and proceeded to conduct a traffic stop in the 7700 block of South Yates Boulevard, according to police in a statement.

As officers approached the car, they saw Robert Lipsey, 31, allegedly place an unknown object under the seat in the vehicle, police said. As an officer got closer to the vehicle, Marc Davis, 32, got out of the car and pulled a handgun on the officer.

The officer fired one shot in the direction of Davis, but did not hit him, according to Chicago Police. Both Davis and Lipsey were arrested, along with the driver of the car, Trevell Moore, 21. Two weapons were recovered from the scene.
