Thief Leaves Behind Cellphone After Rogers Park Burglary

A thief may have left behind a crucial piece of evidence when he burglarized an apartment in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood last week – a cellphone.

According to a police report, Renee Labrana came home to the 7700 block of East Lake Terrace around 12:20 a.m. last Friday to find her home had been ransacked.

Police said among the things taken were a cell phone, a bottle of loose change worth about $800, and a 28-inch Apple computer.

Authorities noted that a cell phone was left behind during the burglary, sitting on a ping pong table in the residence. Police said the phone was taken into evidence and was being checked for prints.

As of Friday no one had been arrested in the case.
