Need a simple way to keep the robbers away? Tell them you’re closed.
At around 5 p.m. on March 29, a woman came into the Albany Bank and Trust on the Northwest side, handing the teller a note demanding “all of your money, no cops, no dye pack,” according to a criminal complaint filed Tuesday.
But instead of complying with the woman, the teller told her the bank was closed and that she needed to come back the following day, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
Police said Olga L. Perdomo didn’t come back the next day. She instead returned five days later and was quickly arrested. Perdomo was charged with attempted robbery.
Willie Weathersby, who was with Perdomo when she returned to the bank a second time, was also charged. Earlier last month, Weathersby had robbed the same bank of $2,589, according to the complaint.
