A Plainfield North High School teacher was arrested Tuesday for allegedly having sex with a 16-year-old student.
Ashley Blumenshine, 27, was charged with criminal sexual abuse after allegedly having sex with the junior in a car behind a Kohls store, Triblocal Plainfield reports. Police say the two were caught after officers approached two lone vehicles.
A judge set a $75,000 bond Wednesday and forbid her from having unsupervised contact with anyone under 18.
Blumenshine teaches physical education at the school and has taught in the district since 2006.
School officials plan to take "appropriate action" when she's released from custody.
