Tavi Gevinson To Screen Movie at MCA

Famous Oak Park teen blogger to discuss award-winning animated short film

Precocious Oak Park teenager Tavi Gevinson is scheduled to screen and discuss her film Tuesday night at the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The 17-year-old first made waves with her Style Rookie blog when she was 11, and has since then has moved on to become editor-in-chief of Rookie Mag.

The award-winning animated short film Gevinson is promoting, Cadaver, was directed by fellow Oak Park native Jonah Ansell and stars actors Christopher Lloyd and Kathy Bates. Gevinson voices one of the main characters in the movie, which was later transformed into a novel.

And if that's not enough Tavi for you, Wicker Park's Debonair is also hosting a free 21-plus after-party.

Gevinson was recently named to Forbes magazine's list of 30 under 30 for Media.
