Suspect in Gym Hidden Camera Case Faces Child Porn Charges

Investigators say a search of the Waukegan home of a man charged in connection with placing a hidden camera at a Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin gym has turned up child porn.

Karl J. Landt, 36, and Melissa A. Wenckebach, 27, face 11 felony counts of Capture an Image of Nudity Without Consent after two cameras were discovered in the women's locker room at RecPlex earlier this month.

Police say the child porn was discovered among several computer memory devices found in Lundt's home during an April 8 search, but the child porn was not captured on the cameras at the Pleasant Prairie fitness facility.

Illinois authorities have issued a criminal warrant for Landt for Possession of Child Pornography. He is currently in custody.

Police say Wenckebach has confessed to placing the cameras inside the facility.

Investigators say three of the images found on the hidden camera files appear to be juvenile females.
