The Chicago neighborhood you live in could say something about your fidelity, according to a new study.
A new list from discreet dating site AshleyMadison.com has ranked the Chicago neighborhoods with the most extramarital affairs based on data from 151,000 Chicago “cheaters” registered on the site.
Chicago’s least faithful neighborhood in the study was Logan Square, where 9.3 percent of residents were said to be having affairs. Lincoln Park and River North rounded out the top three on the list with 9 percent and 8.7 percent of residents considered “unfaithful.”
“The Chicago data is consistent with what we’ve seen in other cities,” AshleyMadison.com founder and CEO Noel Biderman said in a statement. “Affluence is a common element found on most cities’ top ten lists while the proclivity to cheat often goes hand in hand with opportunity. Those with discretionary income and freedom to travel are even more likely to stray.”
Also on the list of 10 least faithful neighborhoods in the city were East Side, Hyde Park, Bucktown, Gold Coast, Oak Park, The Loop and Roscoe Village.
While Oak Park is considered a village and not a Chicago neighborhood, researchers said adulterers in the area have the most children.
The site also found that 45 percent of "philanderers" in Chicago were female and adulterers in the Gold Coast had the most affair partners.
