Streamwood Man Charged With Severely Burning 5-Year-Old With Hot Water

The child remains hospitalized in serious condition

A west suburban Streamwood man has been charged after he allegedly severely burned a 5-year-old child with hot water.

Brian Magsombol, 29, was arrested Saturday night in connection with an allegation of child abuse that occurred on the evening of Aug. 13 in the 100 block of North Park Boulevard in Streamwood.

The child suffered severe burns as a result of being scalded with hot water by Magsombol, Streamwood police said. After the burning incident, the child was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center and immediately transferred to Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, where he remains in serious condition.

Magsombol was charged with felony counts of aggravated battery to a child and aggravated domestic battery. He is scheduled for a bond hearing Tuesday.
