Heavy rain caused flooding on several area roadways, including on the inbound Eisenhower Expressway.

There were reports of an overturned semi on the Tri-State Tollway as the morning rush began and that was quickly followed by numerous other crashes in the area.

A crash on eastbound Interstate 90 near Barrington Road blocked at least one lane on the roadway, multiple accidents caused delays on the outbound Eisenhower while two other crashes were causing delays on the outbound Kennedy Expressway.

Delays were also reported on multiple Metra lines throughout the morning.

The day is not expected to be a washout, however, with storms quickly coming to an end by the late morning hours as highs reach into the upper-70s and low-80s.

The chance for showers returns during the evening hours Saturday and again Sunday afternoon.
