Police were investigating a shooting Friday afternoon that sent one person to the hospital, Illinois State Police announced Friday.
ISP Troopers responded to the reports of a shooting on I-290 eastbound on the exit ramp Western Avenue around 12:30 p.m.. There was one reported victim in the shooting who has been taken to a local area hospital and where their condition has stabilized, police said. The eastbound I-290 exit ramp to Western Avenue and eastbound Independence Avenue were closed for the investigation.
