Southbound Red Line Trains Running With Major Delays Following Mechanical Problem at Loyola

Normal service was resumed about 1:30 p.m.

CTA Red Line trains bound towards 95th Street have resumed normal service after a mechanical problem caused them to bypass several North Side stations for over half an hour, according to the transit agency.

Southbound trains began bypassing all stations between the Howard and Wilson stops just before 1 p.m., the CTA said.

Normal service was resumed about 1:30 p.m., and trains are now running with major delays and congestion following the partial suspension.
