Sheriff: Michigan Doctor ‘Erratic' Before Disappearance

Southwestern Michigan authorities say a doctor behaved strangely and erratically hours before her disappearance

Southwestern Michigan authorities say a doctor behaved strangely and erratically hours before her disappearance.

Kalamazoo County Sheriff Richard Fuller said Wednesday during a news conference that Kalamazoo doctor Teleka Patrick told colleagues on Dec. 5 she was going to Chicago to visit a relative. But she told another colleague she needed money and a ride to a nearby hotel.

Fuller says that at the hotel she appeared to want a room but never requested one. She asked for a ride to the hospital where the 30-year-old was a resident, and the driver saw her get into a car.

Police found Patrick's car in a ditch hours later along Interstate 94 in northern Indiana, about 100 miles away. Her wallet, cash and identification were in the car, but not keys.
