Several Hospitalized After Violent Northwest Side Car Crash

Several people were hospitalized following a violent car crash in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side early Friday.

Two vehicles were involved in the wreck about 2:15 a.m. at the intersection of Armitage and Cicero, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information.

The number of injuries and their severity was not known, but Greer said several people were taken to Mount Sinai and Stroger hospitals.

One person is in custody and the police Major Accidents Investigation Unit is investigating the crash, Greer said.
