Seth Rogen Reveals Surprise About ‘Home Alone' Many Fans Didn't Know

Several celebrities also chimed in on the tweet, sharing their surprise at the news

You may never hear "Keep the change, ya filthy animal" the same way again.

Actor Seth Rogen announced some shocking news for “Home Alone” fans on Twitter this Christmas, revealing that the old gangster movie Kevin McAllister watches during the classic holiday film wasn’t real.

“My entire childhood, I thought the old timey movie that Kevin watches in Home Alone (Angels With Filthy Souls) was actually an old movie,” Rogen wrote on Twitter Christmas Day.

And it appears, he wasn’t alone.

Several celebrities also chimed in on the tweet, sharing their surprise at the news.

“IT’S NOT????” Chris Evans wrote.

Nick Kroll replied “It isn’t? (Dead serious)”

Singer Vanessa Carlton said, “So did the rest of the world.”

Rodney Rothman, co-writer and director of "Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse," replied to Rogen saying he didn't know it "until you just said this."

And celebrities weren't the only ones stunned by the news. Other fans also shared their surprise on Twitter.

According to a 2015 article by Vanity Fair, “Angels with Filthy Souls,” was shot in one day- on the final “test day” before photography officially began for “Home Alone.”

The title “Angels with Filthy Souls” was only inserted into the film because directors needed a label for the tape Kevin put into the VHS player.
