Services Held For Daryl Hawks

NBCChicago sports anchor Daryl Hawks passed away last Thursday morning in Atlanta.

NBC Chicago sportscaster Daryl Hawks was laid to rest Friday afternoon.

Hawks died last Thursday morning in Atlanta. He was found unresponsive by hotel staff in his room at Atlanta's Omni Hotel. He'd traveled there with an NBC Chicago photojournalist to cover Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

The Chicago Bulls on Wednesday honored Hawks by announcing that his family would receive the ball from that game.

Hawks was 38 years old. He was a three-time Emmy winner and former Marine who called Buffalo, New York home.

Services were held Friday afternoon at Eastern Hills Wesleyan Church, at 8445 Greiner Rd., in nearby Williamsville, New York.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hawks Children Education Fund:
