Roselle Man Charged with Sex Trafficking Teen Girl

A northwest suburban man is facing federal sex trafficking charges for drugging and abusing an underage girl and forcing her into prostitution.

Allen C. Iroegbulem, 24, of Roselle was charged with sex trafficking of a minor in a criminal complaint filed Feb. 4, according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney’s office.

Starting in December 2013, Iroegbulem took a girl to houses and hotels throughout the Chicago area, northern Illinois and Wisconsin; and ordered her to perform sex acts, sometimes with several men at one time, prosecutors claim.

They had met through a mutual friend, and Iroegbulem knew the girl was underage because he had picked her up from school before, according to the complaint.

He physically abused and drugged the girl while the trafficking scheme continued for about three months, according to the complaint.

The girl later told federal authorities that Iroegbulem kept most of the money she was paid for the encounters, and she had to beg him for food, the complaint said.

Prosecutors claim Iroegbulem gave a second young girl drugs until she passed out in a hotel room, then arranged for two men to perform sex acts on her while she was drugged.

Authorities discovered the operation after an employee at a Schaumburg hotel found another teenage girl passed out inside Iroegbulem’s room and called police, the complaint said.

Iroegbulem remains in custody pending a detention hearing, the U.S. Attorney’s office said. If convicted, he faces up to life in prison.
