Robin Thicke to Perform at Illinois State Fair

Thicke scheduled to perform at the Grandstand on Aug. 17

The Illinois State Fair is adding singer and songwriter Robin Thicke to its 2014 lineup.

State Fair officials say the artist is scheduled to perform at the Grandstand on Aug. 17.

State Fair Manager Amy Bliefnick says she believes fairgoers will be excited to welcome Thicke and will "thoroughly enjoy his highly-energetic show."

Thicke had a breakthrough last year with the international hit "Blurred Lines," which was nominated for several Grammy Awards.

Other chart-topping entertainment acts on the grandstand stage include rapper Pitbull, country duo Florida Georgia Line and legendary rock band Boston.

Also performing at the event will be American Idol finalists, the Million Dollar Quartet, Steely Dan, and country singers Hunter Hayes and Jake Owen.

Tickets for the concert will go on sale June 13. They can be purchased through Ticketmaster or from the state fair box office.

Last year, approximately 961,142 people attended the Springfield-based fair, up 5 percent from 2012. The number marked the fair's highest attendance since 2002, when 1.2 million people entered the gates.
