Robert Maday Racks Up Facebook Friends

Affiliation: Bad ass. Location: Jail. For now.

Robert Maday is a Facebook hero.

The man whom cops pursued for 24-hours after he escaped custody Thursday, is developing quite a following on the social networking site.

Two fans sites dedicated to the former fugitive have popped up in the wake of his crime spree in the western suburbs. One page boasts 195 followers.

But the apparent digital love for the man who robbed banks, car jacked middle-aged women and out-and-out terrorized Chicagoland last week is baffling.

“I LOVE YOU,” Karisma Patel wrote.

“You’re my F***in Hero,” Joey Cha posted.

“I wanted him to get away,” Mike Ralston said.

Some on Twitter are even calling him a modern-day John Dillinger.

The Facebook page is illustrated with a mug shot photo of Maday and lists his personal interests as “[l]ove to break out of jail, steal cars, beat up cop, steal cop clothes and go to Meijer.”

Affiliation: Bad ass

Location: The streets or jail.

Actually, Maday is in Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago awaiting a whole host of new charges. He’s expected to be locked up for decades once all the charges are in.
