Republic Airlines Flight Evacuated at O'Hare

A Republic Airlines flight underwent an emergency evacuation after landing at O'Hare International Airport Monday.

All 57 passengers and crew aboard flight 4309 were deplaned using emergency exit evacuation slides after the pilot received a flight deck instrument warning of a possible issue aboard the aircraft.

A Republic Airlines spokesman said no serious injuries were reported and that the evacuation was ordered "out of an abundance of caution."

Passenger Adam Shud told NBC 5 that he's still not sure what prompted the evacuation.

"When they said leave your bags and jump, people really got out of that airplane quicker than I've ever seen people get out of an airplane," Shud said.

The flight originated in Washington, DC and was operating as American Eagle.
