Reporter Rides Six Flags' New Goliath Roller Coaster

Six Flags Great America's Goliath wooden roller coaster -- billed as the world's fastest -- opens to the public on Thursday, but NBC's Today Show got a sneak peek firsthand experience on the new ride.

Goliath features the tallest and steepest drop, plunging riders down 180 feet at a near-vertical 85 degrees and reaching speeds of 72 mph.

"That's part of our job, to make people scream," Six Flags corporate engineer Lee Stellhorn said.
