Report: Pope Francis Invites Oprah, Ari Emanuel to Vatican

Several Hollywood big shots were invited to the Vatican to discuss Catholicism and Western entertainment

Oprah and Ari Emanuel, the brother of Chicago's mayor, received an invitation to the Vatican to discuss Catholicism and Western entertainment at the request of Pope Francis himself, according to a new report.

Oprah and Emanuel, who is the CEO of the William Morris Endeavor talent agency in Beverly Hills and the inspiration for the foul-mouthed Ari Gold in the HBO series "Entourage," were approached by the pope's representatives for a special meeting at the Vatican this fall, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Emanuel and Oprah will be joined by other Hollywood big shots to discuss the perception of the Catholic church in Western media and talk about ways to improve its portrayal, the entertainment magazine reports.

Some of the others who received invitations to the meeting include actor Matt Damon, producer Brian Grazer and businessman David Geffen.

It is unknown if Emanuel and Oprah have accepted the invitations.
