Two Arrested After Statues at Suburban Church Vandalized

A Catholic church in suburban Berwyn was vandalized on Sunday, according to the pastor of the church.

The vandals decapitated a statue of the Virgin Mary and one of St. Joseph outside of Saint Odilo Church, said the Rev. Anthony Brankin, the pastor of the church.

The vandals also threw a statue of Jesus in the dirt, broke and toppled a wooden shrine and egged a nativity scene in front of the parish's school, according to Rev. Brankin.

At least two juveniles were arrested for the vandalism on Tuesday afternoon, according to church officials. Police could not confirm.
