Registration Opens for 2010 Chicago Marathon

Entry is $135; no refunds

Runners take your marks. Get set. Register.

The Chicago Marathon is still eight months away, but  die-hard long-distance types are celebrating today as registration for the 2010 Bank of America Chicago Marathon opened.

“Registration is off to an exciting start for our 33rd edition of the Bank of America Chicago Marathon," said Executive Race Director Carey Pinkowski. "It is always encouraging to see this level of enthusiasm from our participants especially in the heart of winter, but this year it is truly electric given our race date is on 10/10/10.”

Only 45,000 runners will be allowed to enter, and registration will shut down when that number is reached.

The fee for the event is $135, and plenty of people will be happy to pay to test the limits of their endurance.

Last year’s race reached capacity registration sometime near the end of April.

Participants must be 16-years or older to enter.
