Rauner Skips National Governor's Association Meeting

For the second year in a row, the first-term governor will not be attending the annual summit in Washington, D.C.

For the second year in a row, Gov. Bruce Rauner will not be attending the National Governor's Association meetings being held Sunday in Washington, D.C.

It also means he's skipping the annual dinner the governors hold with President Obama tonight at the White House.

His spokesman says "last year he was barely into office" and says he's too busy trying to find answers to the state's 1.5 billion dollar deficit. That spokesman adds that this year "he gave the budget address on Wednesday and had other state business."

As for the GOP 2016 Presidential campaign, when asked Friday who Rauner supported, he said "I'm not commenting on that."
