Police in northwest suburban Prospect Heights are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide at a condominium complex.
Officers on Monday responded to simultaneous reports of "a verbal altercation and shouting," "shots fired" and "a woman reporting that she was being attacked" at the Lake Run Condominium Complex on Old Willow Road, police said.
When they arrived, police discovered the bodies of a man and a woman in the fourth floor hallway.
"We are 100 percent confident that there is no threat to the community and that the situation is secure," said Chief Jamie Dunne in a statement.
The case has been turned over to the Prospect Heights Police Department Investigators.
