A pregnant woman was in critical condition after being shot in the head Tuesday in Round Lake, police said.
The shooting occurred about 2 p.m. in the 600 block of West Nippersink Road. Officers arrived on the scene and found the woman, who they believe to be in her 20s, with a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
“At this time, based on current information, it’s believed all of the subjects present at the scene at the time of the incident are accounted for,” the Lake County Major Crime Task Force said in a statement. “There appears to be no active threat to the community.”
An investigation was ongoing.
