Police: Woman Finds Intruder Folding Laundry

Registered sex offender accused of entering home, doing housework

A registered sex offender is accused of breaking into a woman's North Side home on Christmas -- and doing housework.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the 26-year-old woman and her fiancé arrived at her home in the 4000 block of North Kilbourn Avenue and found Paul Edge sitting in her living room folding her sports bra and other laundry. The woman told the newspaper that Edge said he was there to do the dishes.

Edge, 58, was arrested after police arrived at the scene.

He's charged with a felony count of violation of sex offender registration and a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass, the Tribune reports.

Edge was convicted seven years ago in Lake County of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in a case that involved a 15-year-old victim.
