Police Warn of String of Recent Robberies Near Wrigley Field

Chicago Police issued a warning to residents and tourists after a several recent robberies were reproted near Wrigley Field.

In each of the robberies, at least two men approached the victim on the street or in an alley and used force to steal their wallets and cellphones, according to police. The robberies all happened in the same week.

The incidents happened: 

- in the 3600 block of North Sheffield on Oct. 10 at about 3 a.m.
- in the 3600 block of North Clark Street on Oct. 10 at about 11 p.m.
- in the 1100 block of West Addison Street on Oct. 11 at about 2:40 a.m.
- in the 2800 block of North Ashland Avenue on Oct. 15 at about 7:30 p.m.

The offenders in the robbery on Sheffield were described as two black men between the ages of 18 and 21. They stand between 5-foot-6 and 6-foot-1 with slim builds, police said.

In the Clark robbery, the offenders were described as black men in their 20s. One had dreadlocks, and the other had a shaved head.

Two robbers were described relating to the incident on Addison as black men between 25 and 32 years old. They stood about 6 feet tall and weighed 165 to 180 pounds, police said. One of the offenders had dreadlocks, and both wore black jackets and blue jeans. One of them also wore a baseball cap.

In the final robbery on Ashland, one offender was described as a white man standing 5-foot-6 with short brown hair and beige pants. The second offender was described as a black man about 6 feet tall with dreadlocks. He was wearing a black Nike windbreaker and beige pants, police said. Two more offenders — described only as black men about 6 feet tall — were also listed.
