Police Search for Man Groping Women in Popular Chicago Park

Police are searching for a man accused of inappropriately touching women while they jogged in a popular Chicago park.

Authorities are investigating at least two incidents of women being groped while jogging in Legion Park on the city’s Northwest Side.

The first incident happened at 7:45 p.m. on Sept. 22, when police say a man riding a bike hit a 49-year-old woman on her butt near the 5100 block of Francisco, according to a community alert.

About eight days later, a 31-year-old woman reported a similar incident happened to her around noon in the 5500 block of North Virginia.

Both women described the man as being around 20 years old, between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-10 and weighing between 140 and 165 pounds.

Residents in the area said the alert is alarming.

“I am definitely concerned because I live here and I want to be safe,” said area resident MaryJo Hetland.

The man fled the scene in both incidents, police said. Neither woman reported any injuries.
