The Chicago FBI and Highland Park police are searching for the man who robbed a Chase Bank branch Thursday morning in Highland Park.
A man in his mid-20s approached a teller around 9:20 a.m. at 513 Central Avenue, police said, and passed her a note announcing the robbery.
He displayed no weapons, and no injuries were reported, according to police. He is described as a white male with a distinctive, yellow-and-black backpack. He wore a black baseball cap, glasses, brown shoes and a long-sleeved button-down shirt.
School District 112 was asked to temporarily implement a "soft" building lockdown at Indian Trail and Elm Place schools as a precautionary measure.
Anyone with information about the robbery or suspect is asked to call the Highland Park Police Department Investigations Unit at 847-432-7730.
