Police: Man Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident

He was crossing the street near LaSalle and Division streets when a Jeep struck him.

Police are investigating in a hit-and-run accident that killed a man early Saturday in the North Side Old Town neighborhood.

Jesse Bradley, 32, was walking within a crosswalk near the intersections of LaSalle and Division streets around 2:30 a.m. when he was struck by a Jeep Liberty, said police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer.

Bradley was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.

The driver, who police describe to be a 21-year-old woman, was heading southbound on LaSalle Street and was stopped by police shortly after the accident, Greer said.

The driver and a passenger were also taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and were in stable condition, Greer said.

No charges have been filed and citations are pending against the driver, Greer said, adding the woman may have been driving under the influence.
