Police Issue Warning After String of Robberies on State Street Downtown

Chicago police issued a community alert Monday warning residents and visitors after a string of recent robberies on State Street downtown.

Three robberies occurred on Oct. 6 and 10, according to police. In each incident, at least one offender approached the victim on the street and forcibly took his or her personal property.

The robberies occurred: 

- in the 600 block of N. State Street on Oct. 6 in the early morning hours
- in the 400 block of N. State Street on Oct. 6 in the late evening hours
- in the 500 block of N. State Street on Oct. 10 in the early morning hours

Police released descriptions of two possible suspects. One is described as a black man between 26 and 28 years old who stands 5 feet and 10 inches tall and weighs 190 pounds. The other is described as a black man about 30 years old and has dreadlocks.
