Police Issue Community Alert After Logan Square Armed Robberies

The robberies occurred between February 11 and 13

Police issued a community alert after three recent armed robberies in the Logan Square neighborhood.

In each incident the offenders approached the victim, displayed a handgun and demanded money. They then searched the victims and stole their belongings.

The incidents all happened in or near the Logan Square neighborhood in the span of three days:

-- in the 2500 block of North Lawndale on February 11 at about 3:30 a.m.

-- in the 2800 block of North Springfield on February 13 at about 6:05 a.m.

-- in the 4100 block of West Nelson on February 13 at about 6:40 p.m.

Police described the offenders as men aged 18 to 30. 

In the first incident, the offenders were wearing masks. In the second, one offender was wearing a black nylon bandana and a red hooded sweatshirt and the other was wearing a camouflage jacket and pants. In the third incident, one offender was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and a second was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.
