Police Investigate Aurora Township Home Invasion

Authorities are investigating a home invasion that occurred early Saturday in west suburban Aurora Township.

Three men dressed in black and wearing masks entered the lower apartment of a building in the 1400 block of Indian Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. and demanded money or drugs from the occupants, according to a statement from the Kane County sheriff’s office. Two of the intruders had guns.

A resident fought them off, at which point investigators think the intruders realized they were in the wrong apartment, the sheriff’s office said. They then went to the upstairs apartment and tied up at least one person inside before taking a large amount of cash and leaving the area.

At least one of the intruders spoke with broken English, the sheriff’s office said.

No one was injured during the home invasion, according to the sheriff’s office. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact sheriff’s deputies at (630) 444-1103.
