The Lake County coroner’s office identified the men as James Powell, 18, of the 2400 block of Whitcomb in Gary; and Raymond Washington-Whitehead, 18, of the 8600 block of Illinois Street in Merrillville, Ind.

Both suffered gunshots wounds and their deaths were ruled homicides, the coroner’s office said.
