Police Chase Ends with Squad Car Crash

A driver crashed into a squad car after leading police on a chase on the city's South Side.

Officers tried to pull the car over near North and Grand Avenue, but the suspect refused to stop, according to police.

After a mile and a half long chase, the driver slammed into a squad car in the 1200 block of North Lavergne Avenue, police said.

The officers fired shots as the man tried to run away, but he wasn't wounded.

Officers arrested the man in the 4900 block of West Augusta Blvd., according to police.

As of this morning, no charges have been filed.
