Police identified both of the bodies found in a field on Chicago’s Far South Side late Sunday as 17-year-old Darnelle Flowers and 16-year-old Raysuan Turner, Monday evening.
Police said the bodies were discovered just before midnight in the 13000 block of South Rhodes with gunshot wounds to the body and pronounced dead at the scene.
It was not immediately clear how long the bodies had been at the location.
Officers said shots were detected a few days earlier in the same area where the bodies were located.
Both teens were reported missing from the area Friday.
According to missing persons alerts sent out by police, 17-year-old Darnelle Flowers was last seen just blocks away in the 11300 block of South Stewart. He was wearing a red hoodie, Army green pants and black striped gym shoes. He was described as having medium brown complexious, black hair, brown eyes, standing 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds and has a tattoo of his nickname "Bibby" on his lower right arm.
Nearby, 16-year-old Raysuan Turner was also reported missing, having been last seen in the 10100 block of South Indiana. He was seen wearing dark denim jeans, a dark shirt, and a black or brown hoodies. He has braces, is about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighs about 150 pounds and has brown eyes and black hair with medium brown complexion.

Authorities said that two persons of interest are in custody in connection with the bodies found. Though a motive for the killings has not yet been determined, police said they aren't ruling out robbery as an option.
