Kids Arrested for Using Homemade Bombs on Trampoline

Authorities Say They Blew Up a Gurnee Man's Trampoline

Police arrested six kids in north suburban Gurnee for allegedly using homemade bombs to blow up part of a man's trampoline.

The man called police to his home in the 800 block of Belle Plaine Avenue on Monday after hearing a loud explosion in his yard, according to the Tribune.

When the man looked outside, he saw several boys on skateboards and something on the trampoline.

Responding police found three homemade bombs, two of which exploded.

The boys, ages 12 and 13, were found nearby.

All six were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property before being released to their parents later that evening.

Police say information to build the kind of bombs they found is readily available on the internet.
