Phony Grenade Used in Attempted Store Robbery

Employees held the woman in the store until police arrived

Chicago Police busted a woman they say tried to hold up a drug store in Lincoln Park with a fake hand grenade.

The attempted robbery happened just before 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at Braun Drugs, 2060 N. Clark St., according to the Chicago Tribune.

Officers say the 26-year-old woman waited for customers inside to leave before she approached the pharmacy counter, pulled out the fake grenade and demanded cash.

Employees grabbed the woman and held her in the store until police officers arrived.
