Police Investigate ‘Suspicious' Death of Woman in Park Ridge Home

Police said the death is “suspicious in nature,” but that it is an isolated incident

Police are investigating a “suspicious” death of a woman found in a home Monday in northwest suburban Park Ridge.

Officers responded about 12:15 p.m. to the 1900 block of South Courtland Avenue for a well-being check and found a woman dead inside a house, Park Ridge police said in a statement.

She was identified as 74-year-old Judith Krystyniak, who lived in the same block, the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. She was pronounced dead at 3:36 p.m. An autopsy was scheduled to determine a cause of death.

Police said the death is “suspicious in nature,” but that it is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.

Park Ridge police are conducting a death investigation with the help of the Cook County Major Case Assistance Team and medical examiner’s office.

Police said they were expecting to release further details on Tuesday.
