Oprah Heads to Washington for White House Special

The rumor is true: Oprah Winfrey canceled her annual Favorite Things episode for 2009.

But the talk show queen has blockbuster, primetime special in the works to replace it. And it features two of her favorite people.

BARACK and MICHELLE OBAMMAAAAAAAA.

Winfrey is taping a primetime Christmas special with President Obama and his wife Michelle later this week.

The hour-long “Christmas at the White House: An Oprah Primetime Special,” will air at 9 p.m. cst on Sunday, Dec. 13, and will be produced solely by Harpo studios.

Oprah’s people call the show an “intimate, informative and entertaining” special that will include one-on-one conversations with the president.

Winfrey could be cashing in on her first-ever political endorsement. The talk show queen famously supported Obama during the 2008 campaign, a decision many say led to diminished ratings as her audience may not have agreed with her choice.
