Off-Duty Chicago Police Officer Dies

30-year veteran believed to have died of natural causes

    An off-duty Chicago Police officer died overnight, authorities said.

    Security cameras showed the 54-year-old officer clutching his chest around 10 p.m. then falling to the ground inside an apartment complex near Wells and Harrison.

    He apparently died of natural causes

    The officer was a detective and a 30-year veteran of the police department.
