A newborn found in the washroom of a fast food restaurant in south suburban Calumet City has died.
Police said workers found the baby girl Thursday afternoon at a Popeye's on Sibley Boulevard. The Lake County coroner's office stated in a release the baby was about 15 minutes old and pronounced dead at about 3:30 p.m. at the hospital.
The baby appeared full-term, according to the coroner's office.
Police are investigating the newborn's death and are expected to question a woman who turned up at a local hospital after the baby was discovered.
No arrests have been made as of Friday morning.
