New Details Revealed on Security Threat at Rascal Flatts Show in Indiana

The band is set to perform at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park Friday

A bomb threat was behind the abrupt end to a Rascal Flatts concert in Indiana last week, authorities revealed.

The threat during the country group's performance at the Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center Thursday was "deemed a credible danger," but information on how the threat was made and others details weren't immediately released, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's office.

No arrests had been made as of Monday but an investigation remained ongoing, police said.

Several fans complained on social media that Rascal Flatts didn’t perform an encore Thursday night in Indiana, but the band later revealed there was a “security concern” during the show.

“Indianapolis - Due to a security concern at the show last night, standard procedures were quickly executed and everyone was able to safely leave the building,” the group tweeted Friday morning. “The safety of our fans, band and crew is always the top priority for us, so we are so thankful for everyone who jumped into action and for your understanding. We will be back soon!”

The Hamilton County Sheriff's office confirmed Live Nation staff were informed by law enforcement of a "safety issue."

“Last night a safety concern presented itself during the Rascal Flatts’ concert in Indianapolis," Live Nation said in a statement. "Venue staff and local officials followed standard protocols to ensure the safety of guests, the artist and staff. Law enforcement agencies are investigating the matter.”

The venue could not immediately be reached for comment.

Concertgoers began tweeting about the show, with some reporting “someone got led out in handcuffs.”

“Looks like it was a big security/safety issue,” one user wrote.

Another user said security guards told them “things were not okay.”

“Everybody boo’d in Indy when @rascalflatts didn’t do an encore, but hearing from security – I’m so thankful they chose safety over an encore,” one tweet read.
