Teacher Charged With Sexual Assault

Eliza Martinelli, 34, allegedly assaulted four students at a Northwest Side Christian school

A Naperville woman has been charged for allegedly sexually assaulting four students at a Northwest Side Christian school more than 10 years ago when she was a teacher there.

Chicago Police say Eliza Martinelli, 34, allegedly assaulted three girls and one boy when they were students at the Dayspring Christian Academy in Chicago, the Sun-Times reports. Martinelli was charged with four counts of criminal sexual assault.

Nelson Quintana Jr., 27, who also worked at the school, was charged with one count of misdemeanor criminal sexual abuse, police say.

Martinelli no longer works for the school. She is expected in bond court later Tuesday.

The alleged crimes were reported in April, though they occurred in the late 1990s, according to police. Ages of the alleged victims were not disclosed.

Police questioned a third person in connection with the case, but that person was released without being charged.
