Movie ticket prices in the U.S. and Canada are at an all-time high.
The average tag for your ticket rose to $7.89 last year, the Chicago Tribune reports. That's a 5 percent increase from 2009.
Why? People want movies in 3-D. Theaters showed more 3-D screenings last year and about 35 more 3-D films are expected to come out this year.
3-D can add as much as $4 to the ticket price, according to the Tribune.
There's always the matinee.
