Mom Accused of Giving Kids Booze, Cigarettes Found Dead

Yvonne Genovese accused of hosting drinking party for kids

Authorities say a 34-year-old Algonquin woman who had been awaiting trial on charges she held a drinking party for children as young as 12 has been found dead at her home.

Deputy McHenry County Coroner Curt Bradshaw said Wednesday the body of Yvonne Genovese was discovered Aug. 27, and an autopsy was inconclusive.

"We didn't see anything that explained why she died," Bradshaw told the Daily Herald.

Genovese was arrested in January 2008 after police investigated claims she threw a New Year's Eve party where she provided alcohol and cigarettes to at least 11 children between the ages of 12 and 14.

She was also accused of later taking four underage girls to vandalize the home of a fifth girl who had posted information about the party online. Police say the home and a car parked outside were hit with hair dye, syrup and eggs.
