Lakeview Dump Closed for Mice, Insect Infestation

Streets and Sanitation closes Lakeview grill after finding mouse droppings

Chicago’s Streets and Sanitation department closed a Lakeview bar and grill yesterday after its inspectors found more than 120 mouse droppings inside food storage containers.

Mickey’s Grill and Pub, 2831 N. Broadway, was closed on Friday after city inspectors re-visited the restaurant’s kitchen after an Oct. 16 visit found mouse and flying insect infestations, the Chicago Tribune reported.

Not cleaning well enough the kitchen after a flagging results in an automatic closure, but officials said in a press release that the infestations seen on Friday were so bad they were sufficient for an immediate closing.

Any Mickey’s regulars are now going to have to wait until the place is thoroughly cleaned and housekeeping and pest control procedures are revised to be pest-proof.
