Michael Jordan, Nike to Open Jordan Brand Store in Chicago

Jordan, along with Nike, will open a Michael Jordan brand store on State Street in Chicago by the end of the year

Soon Michael Jordan fans will be able to buy the latest Air Jordans from a Chicago store dedicated solely to the Bulls' legend's brand.

Jordan, along with Nike, will open a Michael Jordan brand store in Chicago by the end of the year, according to Scoop Jackson and Darren Rovell of ESPN.com.

"I've been on these guys (at Nike) for some time, (saying), 'We need to do a Jordan Brand store, and we need to do it in Chicago first," Jordan told ESPN.com.

Nike and Footaction opened Flight 23 stores in New York, Las Vegas and suburban Chicago this year. These stores also sell only Michael Jordan brand clothing and shoes. The new Jordan brand store in Chicago will be the first store that is not co-branded, according to ESPN.com.

The new space will open at 32 South State Street and will be named after its address, Jackson and Rovell report.

The latest Flight 23 store to debut in the Chicago area opened at Woodfield Mall earlier this year.

An exact opening date for the State Street store has not been announced.
